Founded to Strengthen
Local Government Finance
LGiQ was formed in December 2021 by our Managing Director, Michele Bennetts, to improve the financial capabilities of the local government sector in South Australia.
After going it alone for seven years consulting to local government organisations, she finally gave in to the requests from her clients to provide ongoing accountancy services.
Knowing that finance professionals are hard to come by, especially those with local government experience, and not everyone needs the equivalent of a full-time employee, she began LGiQ.
Approach
At LGiQ we develop long-term financial management improvement through partnering and mentoring with the organisations we work with, leaving a long-term legacy.
We currently have a range of short and long-term contracts, enabling us to allocate the appropriate resources to meet your needs. Due to the current lack of financial professionals in the market we regularly undertake general and targeted recruitment activities to ensure we have access to new staff when additional opportunities arise.
Beyond traditional accounting
We are not your typical accounting firm. Our model forms a seamless transition between our organisation and yours, undertaking a range of financial tasks while mentoring and upskilling your people. Our approach ensures that the organisations we work with, in particular rural and remote entities, have access to a pool of qualified accounting professionals, regardless of your location.
Our service delivery model is flexible to provide the services you seek now and may seek in the future. It is dependent on your staff capabilities and resourcing, making sure you get the most out of us, whether it be advice, mentoring or undertaking tasks fully.
